Youngstown%5C%27s%20Butler%20Institute%20of%20American%20Art%20showcases%20works%20by%20Bob%20Dylan

The Butler Institute of American Art, located at 524 Wick Avenue in Youngstown, will present pastel works by American artist and musician, Bob Dylan. This exhibition of portraits by Dylan, titled Face Value, was first seen at the National Portrait Gallery in London. This display of Dylan’s portraits will be on view at the Butler from May 17 through July 12, 2015, in Youngstown in the museum’s Flora B. Giffuni Gallery. An event to celebrate the exhibition will occur on Sunday, May 17 from 1-3 pm at the Butler in Youngstown. Bob Dylan has stated, “I’m pretty much interested in people, histories, myth, and portraits; people of all stripes.” This philosophy is echoed in the portraits of ordinary, non celebrity, subjects included in Face Value.
