STUDIOCANAL and the Independent Cinema Office announced that a new digital restoration of Italian auteur Michelangelo Antonionis languorous, beguiling L’Eclisse, will return to cinemas on 28 August. The film will then be available on EST 21 September and released on Blu-ray for the first time (as well as on DVD) 28 September by STUDIOCANAL. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1962, it was the final film in Antonioni’s informal trilogy on contemporary malaise (following LAvventura and La Notte), a series of films that redefined the concept of narrative cinema.
