Spink USA offices Summer 2015 The Collectors Series sale takes place at the New York offices on July 15-16, 2015. The sale comprises 1052 lots with United States stamps with back-of-the-book issues and collections occupying the first day for a total of 542 lots. Unusually the sale commences with a couple of autographs, the more important one being that of Charles A. Lindbergh, the world famous aviator on the back of a menu for a dinner held in his honour by The Association of American Correspondents in London at the Savoy hotel on May 30th, 1927 (shortly after the famous flight). It follows with the usual array of choice United States singles, multiples and condition rarities. Highlights include an 1860 90c Washington with original gum and lightly hinged, three examples of the 1869 3c Locomotive re-issue, of which a total of 1,406 only were sold, all three with certificates.
