Eli and Edythe Broad announced that Paul Pastorek has joined The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation‘s education team. Paul and Gregory McGinity, currently The Broad Foundation’s senior managing director, will jointly serve as co-executive directors of the foundation’s education work. Paul served as the Louisiana state superintendent from 2007 to 2011, leading the state’s department of education as it raised the bar on standards and accountability for all schools in Louisiana. He also directed the state’s efforts to turn around more than 100 of Louisiana’s most challenged schools, including the rebuilding of elementary and secondary schools in New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina. An attorney, Paul has had a varied career, serving most recently as chief administrative officer, chief counsel and corporate secretary for the defense, aviation and telecommunications
