The National Museum of Australia has welcomed the appointment of David Jones, as Chair of the Museum’s Council. An experienced businessman, Mr Jones has served as Deputy Chair of the Museum’s Council and brings wide private sector experience to the Chair’s position. ‘I am delighted by the appointment of David Jones as the Chair of the National Museum’s Council,’ said National Museum director, Dr Mathew Trinca. ‘Mr Jones brings a great wealth of knowledge and capacity from the private sector to the Chair’s position, as well as a deep understanding of the Museum itself, having served as a Council member since February 2010,’ said Dr Trinca. ‘Led by Mr Jones, the Council will guide the National Museum as it builds on its early success in expanding its reach, in Australia and overseas,’ said Dr Trinca.
